Tips to save water, energy, carbon emissions, and costs

Understand your water system:

  • Monitor water usage throughout the year.
  • Regularly check meters for issues if safe

    to access.

  • Inspect for dripping taps and necessary repairs to prevent future costs.

Know your stop taps:

  • Ensure staff and facility managers can locate and operate stop taps.
  • Check stop taps annually to ensure they function properly.

Prevent pipe blockages:

  • Educate staff on proper cleaning and equipment usage.
  • Install equipment to prevent fat, oil, and grease (FOG) from entering drains.
  • Dispose of FOG waste properly, keeping records as required by law.
